Proposed Start Dates for New Drive-Thru Krispy Kreme Doughnut Store

Exciting news for all doughnut lovers in Warrington as plans have been put forward for the construction of a new drive-thru Krispy Kreme store in the area. The project has been approved by the Warrington Borough Council’s planning department and is set to kick off in January 2025.

Located at the Cockhedge Green roundabout, the new Krispy Kreme venue will occupy part of the School Brow Retail Park’s existing car park. However, before construction can begin, certain planning conditions need to be met. A recent planning application has been submitted to address these conditions, with a proposed project duration of 12 weeks and an estimated completion date of April 2025.

While the new store will offer eight electric vehicle charging spots, it will also lead to a reduction in the car park’s size by 33 spaces, from 120 to 87. Other works included in the plans are landscaping and the reconfiguration of the current parking area. Additionally, the drive-thru will have space for up to seven vehicles in the queue at a time.

According to a traffic impact statement, the operation of the local road network is not expected to be significantly affected by the new development, as the vehicle trips to and from the drive-thru are likely to be within the local area. Furthermore, the kiosk unit will not have any internal customer seating, so all purchases will need to be collected and consumed off-site through customer collection points.

For those unfamiliar with Krispy Kreme, the company is a well-known American doughnut and coffee chain that was founded back in 1937 in North Carolina by Vernon Rudolph. With its delicious doughnuts and popular coffee offerings, the new drive-thru store is sure to become a favorite spot for Warrington residents and visitors alike. Keep an eye out for more updates as the project progresses towards its anticipated opening in early 2025.
