Residents in Warrington are being asked to provide feedback on the Central 6 plans to help shape the future of the area. After the controversial Central 6 Streets Plan was scrapped due to public pressure, the council is now focusing on buildings and spaces in Fairfield, Howley, Latchford East, and Latchford West.

To ensure that residents are central to the plans, the council is working with University of Sheffield students studying architecture to organize community engagement events and workshops. These events will allow residents to share their thoughts on different places, what is important to them, and what can be improved in the area.

Themes such as sense of place, use of space, natural space, and safety will be explored during the workshops to gather a comprehensive understanding of how people perceive the area. Community ‘pop-up shops’ will also be set up for residents to interact with materials and provide feedback.

In addition to the events and workshops, a photography showcase has been launched where residents can submit photos of what is important to them in the Central 6 area. A survey has also been created for people to share their views on the places, spaces, and character of the area.

Cllr John Kerr-Brown, the council’s cabinet member for planning policy and development, encourages residents to participate in the community workshops, pop-up shops, and surveys to help create a design code that reflects the unique character and needs of the community. Your input is valuable in building a better future for everyone in Warrington. Let’s work together to shape the future of Central 6.
