The Turf and Feather pub in Warrington is getting a makeover in its beer garden area. Greene King, the pub company, received approval from the Warrington Borough Council for their plans to upgrade the outdoor space at the venue in Birchwood.
The main goal of this renovation project is to attract more customers by improving the current beer garden. One of the key changes will be the construction of a stylish covered pergola on the side of the pub. This pergola will have a new doorway connecting it directly to the pub, located on Glover Road in Locking Stumps.
In addition to the pergola, the plans also include demolishing the front conservatory and building a new accessible ramp to the main entrance. The front area will be upgraded with new resin surfacing and festoon mounting posts to enhance the overall aesthetic of the space.
Currently, the side patio of the pub is not very appealing and has poor access from the bar area. Customers have to go back out through the main entrance to reach this area, and food is served to outdoor diners in a less than ideal manner.
Furthermore, the front picnic benches are placed on the car park tarmac, which doesn’t create a welcoming or safe seating area for customers. The proposed changes aim to transform the external beer garden into a more inviting space, with the new pergola providing a comfortable outdoor seating area for patrons.
Overall, these renovations are intended to improve the customer experience, as well as the operational efficiency of the staff. By enhancing the outdoor facilities, the Turf and Feather pub hopes to attract new customers and ensure the long-term success of the business.
The existing use of the pub as a public house is seen as a positive and appropriate use of the building. It allows for public access both inside and outside the venue, making it a valuable asset to the community. With these upgrades, the Turf and Feather pub is looking forward to welcoming more customers and providing them with a stylish and comfortable outdoor space to enjoy their drinks and meals.
