In November, baby sign language classes are returning to Great Sankey. TinyTalk Warrington, a well-known provider of baby sign language and communication classes, will be launching a six-week workshop course for families with newborn babies. The workshops will take place at St James’ Church Hall on Canons Road and aim to support parents during the early weeks and months with their tiny babies.
The sessions will focus on how tiny babies communicate using their senses and how parents can understand their child’s cues and needs. Through the use of songs, British Sign Language based baby signs, rhymes, and activities, families will be guided through the challenging first weeks with their newborns.
Thérèse Markham, who has been with TinyTalk Warrington for over 19 years, expressed her excitement about helping new parents navigate the fourth trimester. The workshop will help parents identify their baby’s early communication cues and provide an opportunity to meet other new parents facing similar challenges. This sense of community is crucial in providing support and sharing ideas to soothe and settle babies during tough times.
The course is suitable for babies up to 12 weeks old and complements TinyTalk’s baby signing program for children from birth to two years old, as well as toddler talking classes for confident walkers over 18 months old. These classes not only aid in a child’s development in a fun and age-appropriate setting but also offer parents a chance to socialize over a drink while their children play after the learning session.
The first sessions will be held on Friday, November 8. To enroll or learn more about the classes, visit www.tinytalk.co.uk/theresem. Don’t miss this opportunity to support your baby’s communication development and connect with other parents in the Great Sankey area.
