The family of Andrew Frazer, a man who was left partially paralyzed after an incident in Benidorm, has provided an update on his condition. Andrew, who works at Liverpool John Lennon Airport, had decided to go on the trip to Benidorm at the last minute to celebrate his brother Ian’s birthday. Unfortunately, he did not have travel insurance as the trip was booked hastily after others in the group dropped out.
On the morning after his arrival in Benidorm, Andrew was taken to the hospital with a brain bleed, allegedly caused by an attack that resulted in him hitting his head. The first hospital he went to did not perform scans and only treated him superficially. It wasn’t until his brother Ian became concerned and arranged for Andrew to be taken to another hospital that the severity of his condition was revealed.
Andrew had to undergo a craniotomy due to the extent of the brain bleed. He was placed in a medically induced coma but has since regained consciousness. However, he is paralyzed on his right side and is unable to speak or walk. The family is grateful for the community’s support as they have raised over £32,000 to cover the cost of bringing Andrew home on a Mediplane.
The family expressed their disappointment with the care Andrew received in Spain and are looking forward to getting him the proper care and rehabilitation he needs. The funds raised will go towards Andrew’s medical expenses and rehabilitation as he will no longer be able to return to work. The community’s generosity has been crucial in ensuring Andrew’s safe return home and providing him with the necessary support for his recovery.
