Every time the phone rings or you meet someone, you never know what it might lead to. That’s what I love about the business I am in. The other night, I hosted a charity night at the Titanic Hotel, which I have done for a few years now. It’s for Maggie’s, a charity that provides free expert care and support for anyone experiencing cancer – either yourself or someone you love. They do a Strictly Come Dancing night, using people who have had cancer touch their lives. It’s always a fabulous night, and this year, we have raised £75,000 and counting.

It’s that time of year again. On no it’s not! One of the judges was Jennifer Ellison, who certainly knows what she is talking about when it comes to dance. The ballerina in the movie Phantom of the Opera, and Roxie Hart in Chicago on the West End. The list of her credits is ridiculous. One of the other judges on the night was the amazingly talented Rebecca Ferguson. I first met this extraordinary lady, interviewing her at the M&S Arena in 2010 when she finished as runner-up in the seventh series of X Factor. Soul singer and songwriter, she has a unique style and sound. Rebecca has always hated the injustice in show business and is very vocal about it. So much so, that after suffering exploitation and bullying in the industry she campaigned for a change in the law to end racism and misogyny. I love her honesty, frankness, and passion. She has now taken control of her own destiny and booked the M&S Arena. On Saturday, December 14, she is putting on her own Christmas Show in her hometown. She has organised everything – from promotion, booking the acts, and funding the lot without management. It’s going to be a mix of Christmas music, her hits with an orchestra. This lovely lady received an early Christmas present this year: an MBE from the King for her services to the music industry.

Back to the charity night, as the evening was coming to an end, I told Rebecca that I had booked the night off because I wanted to come and see her Christmas show. To my shock, surprise, and delight, she told me not to bother buying tickets. I asked why, and she said, “After watching you tonight, I would love you to host and compare my show.” I was delighted and gobsmacked. So I’m going to be playing at the M&S Arena with the fabulous Rebecca Ferguson.

In addition to her musical talents, Rebecca Ferguson’s advocacy for fairness and equality in the music industry has earned her respect and admiration from fans and fellow artists alike. Her upcoming Christmas show promises to be a heartwarming and festive event, showcasing her soulful voice and empowering message. By taking control of her own career and speaking out against injustice, Rebecca has become a role model for aspiring musicians and advocates for positive change in the industry. The opportunity to host her show is not only a unique experience but also a testament to the power of perseverance and authenticity in the face of adversity. Get your tickets now and experience the magic of Rebecca Ferguson live at the M&S Arena.
