The free firework display above Runcorn and Widnes is set to be a spectacular event this year, taking place on Sunday, November 3. The show will start at 7pm, half an hour earlier than previous years, with music kicking off at 6pm to entertain the expected large crowds.

In a departure from tradition, Halton Council will be launching the Guy Fawkes celebration with a light show on the iconic Silver Jubilee Bridge at 6.55pm. This new LED lighting system on the bridge promises to add an extra element of excitement to the evening’s festivities.

Each year, thousands of spectators gather along the River Mersey at West Bank in Widnes and Mersey Road in Runcorn to enjoy the fireworks display. To ensure the safety of attendees, several road closures will be in effect in West Bank from 5pm to 9pm. Only residents with proper photographic ID linked to their address will be allowed vehicular access during this time.

For the safety of all, the Silver Jubilee Bridge will be closed to all vehicles from 6am to 9pm on November 3. Additionally, the pedestrian footpath will be closed from 6pm to 8.30pm, so spectators are advised to arrive early and plan accordingly.

This year’s event promises to be a memorable one, with the stunning fireworks display set against the backdrop of the River Mersey and the illuminated Silver Jubilee Bridge. Be sure to arrive early, follow safety guidelines, and enjoy the show with family and friends.
