Laura Cooper, a dedicated community support worker at Belong at Home Warrington, has been honored with the prestigious ‘Dignity in Care’ award at the Great North West Care Awards. Her exceptional passion, dedication, and outstanding performance were commended by the judges, who described her as a compassionate and enthusiastic caregiver who goes above and beyond for her customers.
In addition to Laura’s well-deserved win, her colleagues Sam Smith and Donna Reardon were also recognized as finalists in their respective categories. The trio, who work at Latchford dementia specialist Belong’s domiciliary care service, Belong at Home, provide support to the care village’s tenants and local residents to help them live independently and enjoy their later years.
Nicola Hewitt, the area manager at Belong at Home Warrington, expressed her excitement for Laura’s achievement and the team’s overall success at the Great North West Care Awards. She emphasized the importance of putting people first and providing the best possible care to customers, highlighting the empowerment and support that the team receives through training and mentorship.
The Great North West Care Awards recognize the hard work and dedication of individuals in the care sector across the UK. Winners from the regional finals will have the opportunity to compete at the national awards in early 2025. This recent accolade for Laura and her colleagues follows Belong’s success at the 2024 HealthInvestor Seniors Housing Awards, where they were recognized for their holistic approach to care.
