TransPennine Express Unveils Delectable New Menu for First-Class Travelers

On a bustling Monday morning, the train station buzzed with excitement as passengers prepared to embark on a journey from Liverpool to Newcastle. Among them were lucky first-class travelers about to experience a brand-new culinary adventure courtesy of TransPennine Express (TPE).

The latest offering, aptly named TransPennine Kitchen: Coast to Coast, promises a delightful fusion of locally sourced ingredients and top-notch hospitality. This innovative initiative follows the success of TPE’s West Coast Kitchen service, catering to routes between the North West of England and Scotland, and aims to elevate the first-class experience for a wider range of customers.

A Gastronomic Voyage Across the North

As the train chugged along the picturesque route, passengers were presented with a diverse menu showcasing dishes crafted with ingredients sourced from local suppliers along the journey. The tantalizing array of options included a TransPennine bacon cheeseburger, a Newcastle Brown Ale pie, and a hog roast sausage roll, all expertly prepared by The Original Baker in Malton.

For cheese aficionados, a regional cheeseboard featuring Harrogate Blue and Northumberland Nettle cheeses was on offer, while vegetarians could indulge in a flavorful Harissa vegetable stew. Breakfast options were equally enticing, with a full English breakfast boasting Cumberland sausage and black pudding from the renowned Bury Black Pudding Company, as well as fluffy pancakes drizzled with blueberry compote.

Andrew McClements, the Customer Experience and Transformation Director at TPE, radiated enthusiasm for the new culinary venture. In his words, “We’re thrilled to launch TransPennine Kitchen: Coast to Coast, which builds on the success of our West Coast Kitchen. Our new offering brings fantastic food and world-class hospitality together to create a first-class experience that truly stands out.”

Elevating the Onboard Experience

To ensure seamless service delivery, TPE has welcomed over 20 new customer hosts to their team, bolstering the total number of onboard hosts to 60 along the route. Each host has undergone specialized training in customer service, guaranteeing a warm and welcoming experience for passengers throughout their journey.

In a bid to enhance the standard class experience as well, TPE has doubled the number of onboard hosts, with one dedicated to the first-class carriage and another to standard class. Standard class travelers can look forward to three trolley trips per journey, further enriching their onboard experience with attentive service and a touch of luxury.

As the train glided through the picturesque landscapes of Northern England, passengers savored every bite of their delectable meals, basking in the warm ambiance created by the dedicated hosts. The aroma of freshly cooked dishes filled the air, mingling with the excited chatter of fellow travelers embarking on their own culinary odyssey.

The introduction of TransPennine Kitchen: Coast to Coast marks a significant milestone in TPE’s commitment to providing exceptional service and memorable experiences for passengers. With a delectable menu, dedicated hosts, and a renewed focus on customer satisfaction, TPE continues to set the standard for first-class travel across the North, enticing travelers with a blend of gastronomic delights and unparalleled hospitality.
