Youngster from Great Sankey Embarks on 7-Day Marathon for Charity

In a heartwarming display of generosity and determination, 11-year-old Lennie White from Great Sankey has taken on an incredible challenge to support a worthy cause. Lennie, a Year 6 student at Barrowhall Primary School, is running 25 miles over the course of a week to raise funds for the Warrington Youth Zone’s Christmas toy appeal.

Running for a Cause

Lennie’s journey began with two 3.6-mile runs from his home in Great Sankey to the Warrington Youth Zone on Dallam Lane. Dressed as Santa, he embarked on this inspiring mission alongside his parents and teammates from Matthiola U11s and Crosfields U11s. The young athlete has five more runs planned for the upcoming days, with the goal of raising £750 by the end of the week.

A Heart of Gold

Lennie’s dedication to helping others shines through in his words and actions. He shared, “No child should have to wake up on Christmas day without gifts. It makes me really happy that I can help other children in my community that aren’t as lucky as me and I just love knowing that I’m making them smile on Christmas morning.” His commitment to spreading joy and making a difference is truly commendable.
