Michelle Gulyas from Hungary showed an impressive performance in the Women’s Semi-final B of the Modern Pentathlon at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. She finished first alongside Elodie Clouvel from France and Laura Heredia from Spain. Other notable qualifiers included Blanka Guzi from Hungary, Sunwoo Kim from Korea, Gintare Venckauskaite from Lithuania, Ilke Ozyusel from Turkey, and Mingyu Zhang from China.

The battle for the 9th position was intense, with Olympic debutante Anna Jurt from Switzerland ultimately breaking the Olympic record for Laser Run previously set by Laura Asadauskaite from Lithuania.

During the Riding event, Mariana Arceo from Mexico had an unfortunate misunderstanding that led to her elimination, despite completing a clear round. The rest of the athletes managed to maintain their 300 points, with some impressive performances from young athletes like Sol Naranjo from Ecuador.

In the Fencing Bonus Round, Arceo bounced back from her Riding elimination by winning the first four bouts. Misaki Uchida from Japan stood out as the fastest swimmer, while Gulyas narrowly defeated Clouvel in the final heat.

All eyes were on Clouvel during the Laser Run, but Gulyas took advantage of her competitor’s initial struggles in the shooting range. However, Clouvel improved with each visit to the range and managed to hit all five shots in just 8 seconds, much to the delight of the crowd.
