The Great Sankey Artisan Market is making a spooky return with a special Halloween edition. This event, scheduled for Saturday, October 19, will feature over 65 artisan stalls offering a variety of unique products. Visitors can also enjoy live music, spooky face painting, and a fun trick-or-treat trail with free sweets.
In addition to the market stalls, there will be a free circus workshop for children, accommodating up to 30 kids per session from 10am to 2pm. Attendees can also participate in a Halloween fancy dress competition, with the chance to win a free stall at the next market.
Lisa Cowley, the director of Independent Street, expressed excitement about returning to Great Sankey and bringing the community together. The event aims to showcase independent artisans, musicians, and community groups in the local area while providing a day filled with Halloween-themed activities. Many of the activities are free and funded by the organizers to ensure everyone has a great time.
The market, organized by the Great Sankey Parish Council, has been supporting Warrington’s artisans and creators for the past three years. Independent Street, a well-known organization in the north, promotes local independent businesses and products, giving small businesses a platform to reach the local community.
Food enthusiasts will be delighted by the diverse offerings from various food traders at the market. From pulled pork and Greek gyros to handmade fudge and award-winning cakes, there will be something for everyone. Attendees can also indulge in black pudding scotch eggs, spicy chilli sauces, samosas, baklava, and more. For pet owners, Greedy Paws will be selling doggie treats alongside locally baked bread, chutneys, cheeses, and other delicious options.
Art and craft lovers can explore local artisan stalls featuring unique artwork, gifts, metalwork, candles, jewelry, textiles, and more. The market will be held outdoors at The Woodlands on October 19 from 10am to 4pm, and it will continue on the third Saturday of every month.
