Supporting Families Through Baby Loss Awareness Week Activities

Warrington Hospital is set to host a series of events to commemorate Baby Loss Awareness Week, providing a platform for families to come together in remembrance and support. The hospital’s butterfly team, known for their dedicated support to families affected by baby loss, will be organizing these activities to create an environment filled with love and understanding.

The poignant lantern walk, scheduled for Wednesday, October 9th at 5:30pm, will be held at the picturesque Walton Hall. Families will have the opportunity to walk with lanterns decorated by local groups, symbolizing the light and hope that shines even in times of darkness. The walk will culminate at the Walton Lea Baby Garden, where participants will have the chance to lay pebbles in unity, honoring the precious lives lost too soon.

To provide comfort and solace to attendees, refreshments will be offered by Walton Hall, and the chapel in the crematorium will be open for those seeking a moment of reflection and peace. This event aims to create a safe space for families to come together, share their experiences, and find support in each other’s company.

Wave of Light Service of Remembrance

Continuing the observance of Baby Loss Awareness Week, the butterfly team will host the annual Wave of Light Service of Remembrance on October 15th at 6:30pm. This solemn memorial service will take place at St Elphin’s Church, offering a time for prayer, reflection, and shared remembrance for the babies who have left a lasting impact on their families’ hearts.

The service will include poignant readings, prayers, and poems dedicated to honoring the memory of those babies gone too soon. Attendees will have the opportunity to come together in solidarity, finding comfort and support in the company of others who understand their unique journey of loss and grief.

Refreshments will be provided during the service, ensuring that attendees have the opportunity to connect with one another and the dedicated members of the Warrington Hospital butterfly team and chaplaincy team who will be present to offer support and guidance. This gathering aims to provide a sense of community and understanding for all those who have been affected by the loss of a baby.
