A local Warrington company, Shift Health and Fitness, has received approval to expand its business by opening a new gym in a previously empty building.

The company recently submitted plans to the Warrington Borough Council to convert a vacant commercial space on School Brow near the town center into a gym facility. The proposed gym, which will include an internal mezzanine floor, aims to double the company’s current membership from 150 to 300.

The new gym location, which was formerly occupied by Sulzpasha, an automotive business, will not require any exterior alterations to the existing building. The plans include the addition of a mezzanine floor to increase the usable area of the unit, as well as the installation of new facilities on the ground level.

In addition to providing ample parking spaces for gym-goers, the site also benefits from easy access to public transportation, with bus stops located nearby. The business expects to have no more than 20 to 25 people on-site at any given time, with operating hours from 6am to 9pm on weekdays, 6am to 8pm on Fridays, and 7am to 1pm on weekends.

The expansion of Shift Health and Fitness into the new venue is seen as a positive development for the local community. By repurposing a vacant property, the company will not only create new employment opportunities but also contribute to the revitalization of the area.

Overall, the approval of this expansion project is expected to bring economic benefits to Warrington and should be welcomed as a positive step towards growth and development in the region.
