Warrington Play and Sensory Centre, located on Hall Road in Woolston, is a crucial resource for children and young adults with additional needs. Originally established as Woolston Play Barn in 1976, the center transitioned to Warrington Play & Sensory Centre in 2012 to cater specifically to individuals with disabilities.

With over 400 active members from Warrington and beyond, the center serves as a vital community hub. Recently, the center received a generous donation from HBV Cityheart and ATEL Design and Build to enhance its facilities. The donation was used to upgrade the ‘calming’ room with a new interactive projector designed to provide autism-friendly visual stimulation. This technology aims to improve focus and attention to detail in a fun, relaxing, and safe environment.

Julie Herbert, the center’s manager, expressed gratitude for the donation, highlighting the benefits of the new sensory projector. She emphasized the importance of removing barriers to learning and providing opportunities for members to collaborate and relax. The addition of this technology not only enhances the experience for current members but also welcomes new visitors to explore the center.

Neil Mackrell from ATEL Design & Build recognized the significance of assistive technology for individuals with autism and learning disabilities. He praised the center for its role in supporting families and individuals in Warrington, acknowledging the dedicated work of Julie and her team.

The upgraded facilities at Warrington Play and Sensory Centre demonstrate a commitment to providing inclusive and accessible services for individuals with additional needs. The new sensory projector opens up possibilities for engaging activities and relaxation, benefiting both current members and the wider community.

As the center continues to evolve and enhance its offerings, it remains a beacon of support and inclusivity for individuals with disabilities in Warrington. The generosity of donors like HBV Cityheart and ATEL Design and Build plays a crucial role in ensuring that such vital resources are available to those who need them most.
