Track Santa Claus Live: NORAD Santa Tracker 2024 Updates

The holiday season is in full swing, with Christmas Day just around the corner. Children worldwide are eagerly anticipating Santa’s visit to their homes to deliver presents. As Santa embarks on his journey to countless homes across the globe, you and your family can follow his progress using the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Santa Tracker.

History of Santa Tracking

The tradition of tracking Santa began in 1955 with NORAD’s predecessor, the Continental Air Defense Command (CONAD). When NORAD took over in 1958, they continued the mission of monitoring Santa’s global flight every Christmas Eve. Using their cutting-edge satellites and tracking equipment, NORAD ensures Santa’s safe journey around the world.

Santa’s Global Journey

Santa starts his voyage in the Pacific Ocean on Christmas Eve (UK time), heading westwards. He stops at the islands in the South Pacific, then proceeds to New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Asia, Africa, Western Europe, Canada, the United States, Mexico, and finally Central and South America. While the exact timing of his arrival in the UK remains a mystery known only to Santa, he typically reaches the UK between 9pm and midnight on December 24.

When Will Santa Arrive in the UK?

Although NORAD tracks Santa’s global journey, the specifics of his route are a closely guarded secret known only to Saint Nick himself. It is widely believed that Santa begins his gift-delivering adventure in New Zealand and Australia, utilizing their earlier time zones before moving westward to align with children’s sleeping patterns worldwide. According to NORAD, Santa usually arrives between 9:00 p.m. and midnight on December 24th. If children are still awake when he arrives, he moves on to other houses, returning later when they are asleep.
