A series of residential streets in Orford will be closed for resurfacing work, according to a notice published by the Warrington Borough Council. The Road Traffic Regulation Act notice imposes a prohibition of driving and clearway on several streets in the area.
The affected streets include Canberra Square, Meteor Crescent, Sandalwood Close, Buttermere Crescent, Honister Avenue, and part of Mardale Avenue. The closure will be in effect from December 2 for eight weeks, between 8.30am and 5.30pm. However, there will be no works during the holiday season from December 21 to January 5.
Access to these streets will be under the control of the contractor responsible for the resurfacing works. A council spokesman stated that these restrictions are necessary for road and footway surfacing.
Residents in the affected areas should take note of these closures and plan accordingly to avoid any inconvenience. It is advisable to seek alternative routes during this period to avoid any delays in travel.
Additionally, residents are encouraged to follow any signage or instructions provided by the contractor to ensure the safety of both workers and the public. The council appreciates the cooperation of residents during this time to complete the necessary road maintenance work efficiently.
It is essential for the community to be aware of these scheduled closures to make necessary arrangements for transportation and any other activities that may be impacted. The council aims to improve the quality of the roads in Orford through these resurfacing works, ensuring the safety and convenience of all road users in the area.
