Now that Bonfire Night has passed, it’s time to gear up for the festive season as Christmas approaches. Various locations in and around Warrington have already announced their exciting Christmas events and celebrations.

St Mary’s Church on Liverpool Road will be hosting a Christmas fair on November 16. The event will feature stalls, a raffle, and refreshments from 12pm to 3.30pm. Reverend Jeremy Tear, the pioneer vicar for St Mary’s Church, expressed his excitement for the fair and encouraged everyone to join in the fun.

On the same day, Grappenhall Heys Walled Garden will be holding a winter fair from 11am to 3pm. Visitors can enjoy treats and gifts from artisan stalls for free entry. Primrose Café will also be serving refreshments throughout the day.

St Barnabas Church on Lovely Lane will open its doors for a Christmas fair on November 16 as well. The fair will feature various stalls with homemade cakes, jams, Christmas gifts, and books. Santa will be present in his grotto during the afternoon.

Penketh Parish Council will be hosting a Christmas Market on November 30 at Penketh Pool and community center. The market will kick off at 12pm, followed by carol singing and the lighting of the Christmas tree at Honiton Square. Eventive’s artisan food and craft market will return to Walton Hall on November 30 and December 1. The market will feature local independent traders from Warrington and beyond in the Glasshouses Courtyard from 10am to 4pm. Arley Hall near Northwich will be transformed into a magical Christmas trail from November 30 to Christmas Eve. The Luminate experience will offer visitors an immersive light adventure through private family woodlands on the estate. Mulled wine and toasted marshmallows will be available along the route to keep guests warm.

In addition to these events, Stockton Heath will have its Christmas lights switch on at Victoria Square on December 1 at 4.30pm. Entertainment will be provided by Birchwood Brass Band, St Thomas’ CE Primary School, and Stockton Heath Primary School. Marshals will be present to ensure the safety of all attendees.

Grappenhall Christmas Fair will take place on December 7, featuring a Christmas Market with 20 stalls, Santa’s grotto, children’s games, food vendors, and more. The festivities will start at 12.30pm, with Father Christmas arriving at 12.45pm, followed by a tree lighting and carols outside the Church at 4pm.

The Dickensian Festival in Lymm is scheduled for December 14, offering a parade and a Santa race for charity. The festival is supported by Lymm Parish Council.
